Peach Picking

This morning the girls and I headed over to Indian Creek Farms to meet some friends for peach picking. What a wonderful late-summer activity

Ready to Pick!

Noelle had a blast doing this. It was perfect because she could easily reach the fruit herself.

Cora along for the ride

After peach picking we headed over to the raspberry grove and loaded up there too.
Time for raspberries =)

We were also able to stake-out future picking opportunities!

We'll be back for you, pears

Weekend Relaxing around Town

We just had one of those nice, relaxing weekends where a lot got done but nothing felt rushed or stressed.

Friday night we had a lovely picnic dinner on the Arts Quad at Cornell, taking advantage of the still-beautiful summer weather.

On both Saturday and Sunday Alex let me steal away for some gorgeous (literally) runs around town. I went up/down Buttermilk Falls State Park, through the woods and on some great running paths. I should have stopped to take pictures!

On Saturday the girls got some one-on-one time with Daddy, going to his office and out to lunch at Pizza Hut! Sunday morning we had a great combo-outing to the Ithaca Farmers' Market and the Sciencenter.

Dancing to the Music

Watching the Show

Everyone was so tired that they slept late(er) this morning. Win-win =)

Cora is One-Year-Old!!!

Yikes, how did this date creep up on us?! 'Baby'-girl is already one-year-old!

Birthday Girl!

Most of the festivities will take place tomorrow, when daddy gets back from his trip. I couldn't resist getting her birthday cake done on-time though:

Ladybug Cake

We'll save the cake, and most of the presents, for tomorrow. We do have some cupcakes for today though. Also, Cora got to enjoy unwrapping her first birthday present (with a little help from Noelle)!
Let the unwrapping begin!

Alex's trip to Namibia

Most of this month Alex has been away exploring the Namib Desert in Namibia. While he doesn't get home until later next week, he treated us today by sending an email with some pictures from his adventure. The girls (and I =)) really miss daddy, but it's nice to see that he's having a good time!

Preschooler!

Little Noelle isn't so little anymore; she has transitioned up to one of the 'preschool' rooms at her daycare!

At Cascadilla Gorge*

She has made the change very smoothly and seems to really be enjoying herself. Toddler rooms have 1.5-3 year-olds and the preschool rooms have 3-5 year-olds. The new dynamic of being the youngest in the room is really helping her blossom.

Today, on the car ride home, she described an art project she did - jellyfish. In her words: "Jellyfish have worms for legs! And they swim, in the water, like fish!**

Our big girl!

* Clothes, obviously, are optional
** I should really start keeping a journal of the hysterical things toddlers say. Another example; earlier this week she told me we should get her a baby brother when her baby sister gets broken =)

Play Dates

Cora and Noelle have been lucky enough to have a friend, Jacob, over for some play dates.

Heading out for a ride*

Jacob is ~2, right in between Noelle and Cora. So, the three of them have been able to play really nicely together.

Chilling with Cora

Sharing nicely with Noelle

In fact, they were doing so well that I took this picture to show my friends (his parents) how sweetly he was playing:
Water table fun

Notice my two little angels in the background? Yeah, Noelle dumping water on Cora's head has become a regular theme. Most of the time Cora likes it... most of the time =)

* Cora was strapped to me in the baby carrier. The four of us were quite the sight!
